Your Forever Family!
I mentioned I wanted to do something special for families this month since family connections can be a source of strife and peace, so I recorded a new audio/video workshop called “Family Ties Matter” to celebrate my recent certification as an official Family Violence Specialist. I am excited to carry this certification behind my belt so I can be of better service to youth who either need a separation from their family for whatever reason, youth who need to be reunited with their family after a separation or foster youth who don’t have a traditional family of their own. Listen to my short audio attached to this post and get the deets about this Special Family Resource you can share with your traditional families and those you choose to call “family” because sometimes we need to separate ourselves from our traditional family for safety reasons, to bond with a new love or for other reasons and sometimes there may be some type of violence (physical, verbal, emotional, mental, etc.) in the family that creates a rift that needs to be healed and I want to be a part of that healing.
On THINK Higher Spirit Academy LMS website on the “Other Programs” tab you will see all of the free workshops or services plus 2 new ones about Families. I wanted to utilize what I studied and learned with a free workshop for everyone. I think family ties are sacred and there can be a lot of violence in families (not always physical because violence can take on other forms) aside from regular love and that means family ties may get broken. So, the first workshop is called “Family Ties Matter” and it is quite long but you can request it by filling out the short contact form and you will receive it to download in your email inbox. You can take as much time as you need viewing the presentation and listening to my audio (I suggest in 30-minute increments for a total of 1 hour and a half). The second workshop is much shorter just under 30 minutes. I also encourage you to listen to these during family time if you do that with your traditional family or family of choice and you can begin the process of strengthening your bond. **Warning - for those of you who have experienced any family trauma such as physical abuse, incest or sexual abuse, neglect, disownment, estrangement, or you grew up as a foster kid there may be some triggers in my audio and workshops. I highly encourage you to do some self-care exercises, affirmations, meditation or prayer to alleviate these possible triggers and to keep yourself safe and give yourself plenty of love. If you don't have a family or your family refuses to communicate with you and you have experienced jealous behaviors remember you are always a part of God's family and I love you. Stay safe and build the family that truly loves, cares and supports you - this has nothing to do with biology. I hope you either have or find your forever family, Violence, cruelty, jealousy and abuse do not make a family - those are crimes punishable by law. Get help if you have been through any of that and stand up for yourself so you can build strength and resilience. XOXO!
